Wow, like the other Hermana Wiscombe said, I can't believe another week has passed by.
Well I hope it was just fantastic! We are now entering into the last week of January and it's kind of scary! Haha
Well, lets start off with right after I wrote my last email last week. After cyber we were going to get ice cream for my birthday... pretty simple but I just wanted some ice cream. Well, mother nature didn't like that idea. So it started to pour. And a nice lady let us sit in her house until the rain stopped, or slowed down. It was literally only like 20 minutes.. but it was like good ol' North Carolina rain. And so by the time it stopped, it was time to go out and work again. So then we decided that after working we would stop by and get ice cream. Bueno. The storm was stronger than we thought. The elders called us and told us we had to be in our house early that night because there was no power, or lights. And so we were in our house by 8pm. So instead of ice cream, we sat on our rooftop talking and looking up at the stars for a while, while the power was out in the city. Although it wasn't the day that I had planned, it was still a beautiful night and I still felt my Savior's love and the love from my family and all of you. So thank you!
On Tuesday we decided to do service as a zone. So we went out working at 8am and what I thought was going to be a 1 to 2 hour service project turned into 8 hours. So you can probably imagine that I was a bit fried. But all is well! I now have a sweet tan line from my watch! But really, that day was awesome. It felt good to help out random people. The storm from the night before was even more serious than we thought. Towards the river, there was a little tornado which tour some trees down and did some damage to some houses. We helped out the branch president in the morning and then went to his neighbors and worked on the huge tree there that had fallen on their house. It was a good time doing service and getting to know the people that we helped.

Other than having a great week full of adventures, we also got to have a week of learning (as always) and teaching! Something that I just want to testify of is faith and miracles. Being in the work we hope for a lot of miracles... At least I do. But I also know that it takes every ounce of effort and faith that we have. I know that the Lord can do miracles for his children here. But it depends on us, as missionaries or members, and also the faith and the works of the people that need these miracles. We have an investigator right now that would get baptized any minute if she could. She is amazing. But, as always, there is a challenge. Hers happens to be that she is not married to her boyfriend, after 15 years and 2 kids. And Her husband doesn't want to get married. but I know that with the help of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, The Holy Ghost, me and my companion, and the faith of our investigator, Carmen, miracles can be brought to her and her family. We are doing everything we can to help her!
I am so happy here. In Paraguay with these wonderful people, doing the work of the Lord! But sometimes there are also sad moments. When your heart is so into something, it just breaks every time something isn't the way its supposed to be. We see and experience a lot of sad things here, and see a lot of sad people. But I when these moments pass I have to remember to keep my head up and be a representative of the Lord. Be happy and know that he knows best and all is going to be ok!
Something on a more lighter note... This morning we got to go fishing for a little bit! We woke up bright and early and got to be by the river side for a few hours. It was nice to relax for a little while in the morning. It was super tranquilo y me encantó :) Even though I didn't catch a fish...
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Love Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
