Hola hola :)
This week went well! Its hard to keep track of the weeks but it was good! We’ve been able to have a lot of really good lessons. My companion and I have really been working hard on teaching with the spirit. We’ve been focusing on the peoples needs. What we can teach them to really start progressing. We haven’t been seeing a whole lot of progression here lately, but we are still working hard! I know that if we are doing our part, the Lord will do His part.
This past Sunday, Hermana Sablan and I taught the primary because we no longer have a teacher. We taught the kids for 2 hours and it was.... insane. Haha. The first hour we tried to teach about Alma the younger and the second hour we tried to teach about the 10 commandments. It was so hard! They were running around all over the place, hitting each other, some were crying, etc. Man. I’m so not ready to be a mom. I had a really bad headache haha. I told my companion that I’m not teaching next week. Es cierto...
Because I’m leaving my area and I’m going to Montevideo- Flores!! I’m really excited! I’m a little nervous with what lies ahead but I really feel like that’s exactly where the Lord wants me right now. And I can help the people in Flores. I will be with an Hermana that’s from Colorado and she only has been here for 4 months. So Ill be helping her out. I’m excited! I’m hoping that I can be a good example and work hard and do my best. And I’m going to be the sister training leader! (Super nervous). I will be in charge of coordinating exchanges with the other Hermanas and going to meetings with all of the leaders and President. It’ll be good. I just feel so inexperienced! But that’s okay. I know that God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called :) And that’s really comforting to me.
This past week, one of the lessons we had was with Familia Banchero. We have been teaching them basically since the beginning of January (long time). Its been hard for them to progress because they were recently baptized and it was a really spiritual experience. But my companion had a genius idea and told them that she wanted them to teach us a lesson. Instead of us teaching them a lesson. And specifically about the tree of life (1 Nephi 8). So that got them to study the scriptures as a family and really learn the doctrine in order to teach it. And so we went over to their house and all of us talked about the tree of life and what everything meant. We all talked about scriptures in the Book of Mormon and the Bible. And they know the Bible reallllyyyy well. So it was AMAZING when the dad wanted to share a scripture with us from the BOOK OF MORMON! It was so amazing!! It was also hard for them to accept the Book of Mormon because all they grew up on was the Bible. But at the end of the lesson they said that they felt that the Book of Mormon was the word of God! I was so happy :)
We also have another investigator named Maria. She is 84 and she doesn’t understand us very well. We were having a lesson with her about baptism and later we invited her to baptism and she said no, I am 84, etc. it was sad. So I had the idea to draw a picture. Because that helps her. So I drew her at in front of a door and we showed her that the door was baptism. And then behind the door was eternal life with God and Jesus Christ. And so we explained that we cannot enter into the kingdom of God-- we cant have eternal life if we are not baptized. It was really simple and she understood! We invited her to be baptized again and she said yes!! It was amazing. I know that the Lord guides this work. Its really amazing. I love this work.
I hope you all are super happy!! That’s its for this week.
Que pasen bien!
