Hello wonderful friends and family!
I’m happy to tell you all that we had a wonderful week last week! And it ended with a bang.. I’m mean a baptism :)
So as I told you all, the Fernandes Family decided to get baptized this last Saturday. It was a good time helping them prepare for it and get ready. And by Saturday they were ready to enter the waters! It has been such a blessing being able to help this wonderful family. They had a beautiful baptism that night and we had a lot of support from the branch which was really nice. I felt so happy as they were baptized. But I think the thing that made me smile most was seeing the smile on Hermano Alexsandro's face (the dad who was baptized 13 years ago). As they were both getting baptized, he was smiling and so proud. If you knew him, you'd feel the same way seeing him smile. He's a pretty tough guy.. well acts like it. But we all know he's a big softy inside. And before the baptism, Hermana Hilda came out in her white dress and he was smiling again.. Oh it was just the best! I’m sorry, I’m just rambling on now... It was a good time :) Sunday morning, the branch President welcomed them into the church and had them stand up on the stand as a family. Hermano Alexsandro said a few things, thanked everyone, and then at the end said, "now we just have to endure to the end". I know they are going to be a wonderful family in the church. Even more blessed than they were. Even more happy than they already were. Because the gospel and the covenant of baptism does that for us! Seeing them all up there as a family made me so happy, it was the best sight. I know they are going to be an eternal family, thanks to the Love of God and his wonderful gospel.
Continuing on with the week..
We were able to see a lot this week an investigator named Leticia. She is the sweetest and I have loved getting to know her and teach her. She is learning a lot and understanding new things. Even if they are different from what she grew up on. This week her husband was here from work and so we were able to teach the 2 of them. Let me tell you, teaching families is one of the best things and also one of the hardest. But I love families! This Sunday she told us that she wanted to come to church. So we called Sunday morning and she said she was going to come. So she came with one of her friends! They had to leave early because her baby had a fever, but we are hoping they can make it next week! She told us this week that since the first visit with her, her prayers have been answered about her husband coming home more often from work. and that she kept receiving us because she kept seeing these blessings. I have seen how the gospel and the simple little things of the gospel and the love of God have blessed peoples lives. We aren’t doing much, teaching and serving her however much we can, but I have seen that through us, the Lord has been able to touch the hearts of these people. Leticia is a wonderful woman and we are excited to work with her!
We had a wonderful week, sometimes things don’t work out the way you think or want them to, but you got to keep moving on and trusting in the Lord. In His time and in His own way, his will is brought to pass! We just have to be servants to Him and He will guide us!
I love you all and thank you for everything! I love this work and I know that Heavenly Father loves us! Keep strong and stay faithful!
Con mucho amor, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
