This week was another week full of lessons and missionary work. The nom. Haha.
We were able to visit Jessica again and we went with a member. We were able to talk to her about the second part of the plan of salvation- what happens after death. And it went well! She really understands a lot. And she went to church again yesterday!! It was super great to see her walk in the door. What I love to see is that people are willing to search to see if this is the truth. They sacrifice their time to draw closer to God. Its awesome! We are going to visit her again tonight. I think lately she’s been feeling like she hasn’t been getting answers and she doesn’t know too much so we are going to try to help her feel comfortable and remind her that God always answers prayers. In his timing, but He always answers.
Other than that, we had a charla foganera (fireside) this past Saturday. It was a stake activity and we were expecting a lot of people but not too many people came. But its okay, because it was still really good! Return missionaries talked to us about their missions, experiences that they had an everything. It was awesome :)
We were able to have FHEs this week with some members and they went really well :) The members here are really nice. As for right now, we are just trying to get them to go out with us more and support the work a little bit more.
Oh! This week we also had a capacitación de zona. (zone training?) and it was awesome! We were all able to read in Preach My Gospel together in the first chapter. Talking about my objective as a missionary. Its always a good reminder to know why we are here as missionaries and why we are doing the thing that we are doing. Sometimes we forget the eternal significance and what we are doing. Every time we open our mouth, we are giving someone the opportunity to live with our Heavenly Father again! Its up to them whether they choose it or not. My companion and I passed a lady on the street and started talking to her. She told us not to waste our time with her. She said she used to be a member of the church but she doesn’t go anymore. She told us again not to waste our time. I felt the least we could do was share our testimony. So I told her that her Heavenly Father loves her and is aware of her situation and she just needs to keep praying. She told us that she was going through some rough times. I’m glad we could at least remind her that someone is listening. God is always listening.
Well, this week will be another full week of hard work and lots of sun! (Not as much as Paraguay... sorry Liesel).
I hope you all have a fantastic week!
