Hola! ¿Cómo están todos?
So this week we received changes and I am blessed enough to be with Hermana Larsen another change here in Concepción! This next change will bring me to almost 7 months here in this beautiful city. Its pretty crazy, but it feels like home and I have loved the time I've had here.
This past week we were able to witness a miracle! Not necessarily (I have no idea how to spell that) anything you can physically see, but a change in someone’s heart. There is a recent convert in our area whose name is Ylse Gomez and her daughters. Since I have been here we have had lessons, Family home night, members helping, inviting this family to everything we could to get them to come back to church. Since I have been here she hasn’t gone to church. That’s more than 7 months that she hadn’t gone. which is a lot because she was just baptized 11 months ago. We were able to visit her last Saturday in the morning and have a lesson with her. She had told us that its not that she didn’t not want to go, its just that she ‘ make it a priority and other things always got in the way. But she finally realized that things in her life aren’t how they used to be when she would go to church. She began to recognize the difference. We were able to share with her Alma 5. There is a question that we asked that’s in verse 26: And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?
I know that in her heart she didn’t want to be separated from God and His love, but she didn’t do the things she needed to do to grow closer. And finally there was point in the past few days that caused her to think about what she really wanted to do in life and ho she wanted her relationship to be with her Heavenly Father. She promised that she would go to church this past Sunday. Guess who walked through the beautiful church doors that beautiful Sunday morning? Ylse and her girls! Ahh i was so happy! We are going to keep working with her and helping her become strong in the gospel. Because that is the best thing she can do for her family and for her future.
Well, not too much new, always continuing forward with a lot of faith everyday! Because, what else can you do?
I hope you all are beginning to enjoy the summer season! As for me, I am too, its still hot here! And its almost winter.. This next Sunday we have the anniversary of Concepción and so we'll see how this weekend goes! It will be interesting! There is going to be a big parade for the whole city Sunday morning.
To end I want to leave you guys with a scripture in Helaman 15:7-8. I love this verses because in them tells us how we an become truly converted, not just have a testimony of the truth and be happy about that, but truly converted we have to act and be firm in our faith!
Well love you all and thanks for everything! Talk to you soon!
Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
