Hola!
This week was another crazy week with another division for 6 days. We did a lot of contacting and meeting new people. One of the people that we met was super cool. We talked to her at her house and made an appointment for the next day. So we got there, having left the restoration pamphlet, and found out that she had read and understood that we do actually believe in God :) So that was good. But we taught the restoration and she seemed really accepting. And we got to the end and invited her to pray so that she could know for herself if it was true, what we had shared. And she seemed really hesitant and so we asked and explained more about the importance of prayer and asking God. And she was so hard! She didn’t even want to pray. She said that she didn’t want to ask until she knew more. She didn’t want to get more confused. But it should have been the other way around.. In 1 Nephi 15:3 Theres a part that I like that I read the other day. It says
“For he truly spake many great things unto them, which were hard to be understood, save a man should inquire of the Lord; and they being hard in their hearts, therefore they did not look unto the Lord as they ought.”
To understand the great things of the Lord, we have to ask him. We have to pray and ask, or else we will never know. If not, we have to ask our selves when we don’t understand, verse 8, "Have ye inquired of the Lord?"
We cant let our hearts be hard, we have to be humbled enough to look to Lord in everything that we do. We couldn’t do much for that lady, only invite her and that was all we were able to do for her.
This week a video came out for Christmas that the church made and you all have to watch it if you haven’t yet! And share it :) With everybody! Its a really simple way to share the gospel in this time a year! Take advantage of the opportunity!
This week will be another division in Bella Vista with Hermana Nuckles. It should be a good week of lots of learning and knowing new people! I’m excited! I hope it is one for you guys too! Not too much to share for the week, but here's to one more week for the Lord!
Talk to you soon! Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
