Famila Y amigos!
These weeks just fly by and its already June! What the heck?
Thank you all of you guys that wished me a happy birthday :) It made my day! Yesterday I didn’t do too much out of the norm but it was a good day! I wont up to my companion singing me happy birthday and giving me french toast and hot chocolate :) She’s so nice. And then we had our stake conference yesterday. Our mission president and his wife came. The mission presidents wife made all of us, missionaries banana and pumpkin muffins. And the missionaries sang to me. And the rest of the day was normal. We worked! First birthday as a missionary!
This week was good. We actually had a lot of really good lessons. We have one investigator named Delia. We taught her two lessons this past week. The first one was about the Book of Mormon. And we explained how it can help us find peace in this life. And then the next time we went over, she said, "Look!" And she showed us a notebook where she had written a ton of notes about the introduction of the Book of Mormon! It was so awesome! She was explaining it all to us (she had basically memorized it). Man. Hermana Sowards and I were smiling so much haha. It made me so happy that she was really reading and understanding!! We have invited her to be baptized and she said yes! Its going to take a little longer for her because she is living with someone and she has done a few things in the past but we are going to be working really hard with her. She’s really amazing :)
This week has also been a little hard because sometimes its hard to know if you’re making a difference. Sometimes you see so many other missionaries having a lot of success and you feel inadequate. But one thing that I do know without a doubt is that my Heavenly Father is on my side. I know that the mission is not supposed to be easy. I know that this is a test and I really have felt so blessed. The Lord has helped me SO much since I’ve been out here. I have realized this week just how much I love teaching and helping these people. Its really amazing!
This week I have been thinking a lot about how the Holy Ghost can help us. We literally cannot do this work without the Holy Ghost. He is the teacher and helps guide this work. I have never confided more in the Holy Ghost in my life and I am so very grateful for this gift. I invite all of you guys to read Moroni 10:5. We literally CANNOT fall if we are on the right path. And the Holy Ghost is the only one that can help us stay on this path. (Helaman 5:12). Thank you all for everything that you do for me :) I love you all!!
