Hola! Lets see what happened this week. They just go by so fast sometimes its hard to remember what happened.
Ok. First I want to share an awesome experience that we got to have this week. So the elders gave us a reference to someone that lives right in front of the church. They are a family that just moved here to Paraguay like a week ago and they wanted to know more about the Mormon church. And so the elders talked to them a bit and then gave us the reference being in our area. So we got to meet them on Friday and get to know them. We really only got to talk with the mom, Valdirene Martins. And her husband is Alfredo. And they have a 2 year old son. She expressed to us that she wants guidance for her son and wants him to grow up with standards. And so we got to talk about the book of Mormon a bit and about the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was really sweet and I really enjoyed being able to teach and talk with her.
Then on Sunday after church (and they came!!) we got to go and have a lesson with them both. We talked more in depth about the Gospel and how their family can be eternal. She said that she had gone to many other churches in her life and so she was kind of confused right now with so many ideas in her head. But that she is still praying needs that answer from God. She then (well, they both) started crying about how they know that God will give them answers to their search. That is one thing that I do know. God prepares the people that are ready and that are looking. We run into many people a day that aren’t ready yet. They aren’t looking or they don’t want that in their lives. But for the people that do want it. I know that God is always preparing the way for them to know. And so I know that if they both have open minds and an open heart to the answers of Heavenly Father, they will come to know that this is the only true church. It was a really good lesson that we had and these are the moments that make everyday worth it. To be able to preach and help the people that are looking.
So. There's that story and that family. And they are great. And I already love them so much! But one more thing to add- they just moved from Brazil. And they don’t know any Spanish. And we don’t know any Portuguese. Let me just testify of the gifts of the spirit. I know that these gifts are real. And I know that the spirit had to be there in order for us to teach and them to understand. And its real and its amazing.
I love that 2 American girls can get together with 2 Brazilians and we can communicate thanks to the Spirit and the Love of God.
So this week was pretty good. Church yesterday was good. And we had a lot of people there. the most since I’ve been in Laurelty. I was happy to see that! But it was a good week of contacting, meeting new people. Loving people. Doing service and preaching the Gospel!
Thank you for everything you guys do for me! Keep praying and have an awesome week!
