Hola everyone!! July 24, 2014 Sister Jacqueline Wiscombe
This week went by super fast! The new North Americans came a week ago and they are all so awesome! Its pretty sad that we dont get to spend more time with them, and our schedules are different, so we basically never see them, but we talk to the North American girls at night sometimes. They are so nice.
This week has been really good! I’ve been to classes, had physical activity, practiced how to teach, laughed a lot, etc. Oh! There is this guy in my district who can sing really well and me and him jam out to Poison and Wine by the Civil Wars. Its so awesome. It sounds so good because he has such a low voice and I do the girl part. Im going to miss him. He is going to Paraguay. I love my district. But hopefully we can all hang out after our missions! Oh, and an Elder man is here for a few weeks, and basically every meal, (lunch and dinner), I make myself a devilled egg, because they put out boiled eggs for our salads, and the guy saw me making one and now he calls me Hermama Devilled Egg. Haha. Its awesome.
This past Sunday was awesome, it was super spiritual. This upcoming Sunday will be my last Sunday in English (its been in English this whole time). I leave the MTC in 5 days!! Its so crazy!

We went proselyting this past week and we went to a different area. It was a neighborhood instead of
a city and i liked it so much better. It was so much more peaceful. My companion and I had the goal to pray with people cause we had never done that before. Just like pray for their family. So we would walk around and start talking to people that were out walking (the weather was perfect), and we would tell them a little bit about the gospel and we would pray with them. We pray with a few people, it was awesome! And then, my companion and I were walking up to this lady that was outside and she seemed interested in us so we started talking to her. She is Catholic and it turns out that her grandma is or was (not sure) a member and that she had a Book of Mormon. That’s always so cool to hear. At the beginning I started talking to her about baptism and stuff and then we just kept talking to her and it was awesome! We wrote down her name and number and then we left. My companion said to me, we didn’t invite her to baptism! It was our goal to at least invite one. I told her that we should go back. We prayed really quick to know what to say to her and we went back. I basically went up to her and said, we forgot to tell you something. (I cant really even remember what I said), but then I said, if you find out for yourself that our message is true, will you be baptized by someone with the authority of God? Or something like that, and she said yes! She pinky promised my companion and I that she would at least read the Book of Mormon. She said yes twice to baptism and yes to reading the Book of Mormon. It was just an awesome experience. I don’t have much time this week, but this week has been great! Spanish is super hard, but I know with time, the gifts of tongues will come. Just keep praying for me! I love being here with Liesel, its so awesome :) I have to say goodbye to her in 5 days, but we will both have incredible missions out in the field! I cant believe this is my last email in the CCM! What the heck! I love you all! Mosiah 22:2 (I think)
