Hola Familia!!
Another week, as the time progresses I have the hope that with that, the people are and all over the world (you guys) are progressing too! I love you guys and thank you for all of the support that I recieve and feel every week!
To start things off this week, I want to share an experience that we had Sunday night that made me so surprised, happy, and everything else! So to start off, we have had an investigator for a little while now named Hugo, about 30 years old. We were visiting him and after a while we thought that we needed to let him go as an investigator because he wasnt progressing like he needed to. But from the very first time we met him and his wife, we had impressions of them. As we do will all people, first impressions. hugo- pretty quiet but nice and wanted to learn more. And with his wife, gloria, a strong personality and we weren't sure if she even liked us haha. And so that was our impression at first of her, So sometimes we even were alittle afraid of her. We were never able to talk with her much, or teach a lesson to her because she works so much. Anyways, so we had stopped visiting Hugo for a little bit until he showed up to our english class that we have in the church for anybody that wants to come. We talked to him for a while and told us that his wife had prepared the house for us to go over one day, but we didnt have time to go over, and so he asked about that and how his wife was a little disappointed that we never showed up. That was really surprising, just going off of the

That was really surprising, just going off of the
first impression. So the other night, he came again to the english class and so we told him that we would pass by sunday to meet with him and his wife. She welcomed us in and we sat down and had a lesson with them. We decided to teach the plan of salvation after having sung families can be together forever. And so we were teaching and at the end, she had many questions and comments. So as best as we could, we tried to explain things by the end, I had pulled out all of the pamphlets for lesson 1,2, and 3. We had talked about baptism and following in christs footsteps, and how we can know which church is true, and how we can be an eternal family and have eteranl life, thanks to all of these things. It was crazy because she understood so much and my companion had mentioned to me that she was watching her as we taught and gloria was so interested and concentrated in the lesson, learning, and loving the things that she was able to learn through the spirit. at the end, we invited her to be baptized and she said yes. Its so interesting how that night went out. During the whole thing, she was understanding so well, and we were happy to explain and teach. As a missionary I will always have to remember that first impressions arent always true to the person. We always need to try to help God's children even though at first, they dont act the way that other people act or we expect. We didnt have hope in her at the beginn ing to be honest. But having this lesson and this time with that family, opened my eyes to how people can always accept the gospel. I know that if someone is searching, really searching, God will ALWAYS prepare a way for them to find the gospel. He is so loving. But it all depends on our desires. And so I know that if each one of you searches for an answer to something, you can recieve it. I am always testifying how God wants us to know the truth. It just takes a lot on our part. Our best effort.
Something else that has been a good experience this week and made me see how the Lord's hand really is in our lives, is being able to teach Cristian Acebedo. He is 34 years old and we have had the opportunity to teach him able the true gospel restored to the earth today. He has been to church several times and we can see him acting in faith. He is now getting baptized this saturday night and we are happy to be able to bring him to the waters of baptism. I know that Heavenly Ftaher loves each and every one of his children. And that baptism is a requirement to enter into the kingdom of God because he wants to see all of his children clean. One thing that I have been able to witness this week with Cristian is stopping smoking. We have been able to help him though this process of quiting, just by teaching him. But I know that God has been helping him along the way. That Cristian has also been putting in his part to be clean and that the Lord has been able to give him the strenghth to stop this habit. I cant imagine having to do something that drastic in my life, and so I know that he is recieving a lot of help from the Lord. I know that he is helping him and I have been blessed enough to see the Lord's hand in his life as he has been accepting Jesus Christ more. So this week we will be continuing to help him along this wonderful path - the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Well, not too much more to report on for the week. Other than I love being able to help Hermana Larsen and with her training. i have been able to see her grow little by little, increasing her spanish, and saying more in the lessons. Just little things, but its been a joy to be helping her.
A scripture, or a chapter I want to share with you all today is Mosiah 4. I read this this morning and I love it. I know that its so important as members of the church to continue and endure to the end, making sure that we are taking care of our salvation, but also its part of our duty to take care of God's children around us. So I would like you guys to read this chapter and think, how can you give your goods to others?
Well, thats about it for this week but thanks for everything! And I hope that you all have a wonderful week! Talk to you soon!
Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
