Hola familia y amigos! Como están??
As for me, todo bien! This week we had the opportunity to go on a few more divisions so I'll start with those.
Tuesday I was on a division with Hermana Harper. She is from North Carolina! So that was really fun hearing her accent because its been forever since I've heard a southern accent! So we were in my area, and I only have a few days in my area so we may or may have not gotten lost a few times. But that’s ok, we tried to contact all we could! But other than that, the day was pretty rough. It was super cold and super rainy so nobody was outside or wanted us to come in haha. So it was, I'd say, a pretty typical missionary day. But we tr’ied to stay diligent, and we contacted all of the people that we could and even though it wasnt a very successful day, I know that God blessed us. In the scriptures it teaches us in Mosiah 2 that if we are obedient, then God will immediately bless us. And sometimes we wonder if that scripture can be true if sometimes we aren’t blessed till days or months or even years afterwards. Or at least we don’t see it. But I read a talk one time that said that when we obey we are blessed immediately, because we changed our nature or we developed that skill. So I know that diligence was a blessing for us that day.
The other division that we had was with Hermana Ross. She is from California. And again, we were in my area. It was a bit more of a successful day, and lots of walking. When we first started out the day, we talked to a girl that had a baby. She seemed really interested when we talked to her. And then she asked if she could come to church if she wasn’t married and had a baby. And it made me so happy to be able to say yes. That the Lord wants more than anything for her to come to His church. And be able to be healed of whatever may have happened in the past. It doesn’t matter what we may have done in the past or what kind of person we were, but it matters what we do now, and how we act now. That’s what matters to the Lord. So we will be going back to her to teach her and help her come closer to Christ! Oh how I love this message of happiness that we have! I couldn’t imagine going to a foreign place, leaving home for a year and half trying to share something that wasn’t true. I know that this is the true church of Christ. The only church and gospel that fully heals us.
Well, as for me and my area, Hermana Morales and I are having a blast together. I love her so much! She is so funny and she is always being a shining example to me how to love others. Laurelty is pretty good. The ward is struggling a bit but hopefully we can help it to become strong so that all of the members can be strong and the incoming people (like investigators and converts) can also be a strong firm member the church of Jesus Christ.
We had the opportunity to go to a few conferences this week and listen to President McMullin. And instead of teaching us how to teach better or something like that with missionary work, he decided to minister to us. He talked about how we can always have the spirit with us even though we live in a very difficult world with so many temptations. He talked about when temptations come, we have to run. As fast as we can and we have to think, think real hard, about our biggest goal (eternal life). Think of every detail of it and focus on that. So I encourage all of you to do the same. Focus on your goal and don’t let anything stand in the way.
Well, that’s about all for this week. Espero que su semana sea lindísima! Les qiero mucho y gracias por todo! Hasta luego!
Con mucho amor, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
