Family! It's that time again!
Wow, a week has passed and it was quite the week. Well, nothing too crazy, but it was Christmas!! How was everyone's Christmas?
Mine was definitely different this year, my first Christmas away from home. But it was so good to be able to experience it here in Paraguay! For Christmas they mostly celebrate here on the 24th. Everyone was cooking on Christmas eve. And then they have a big dinner super late at night (which meant that we didn’t get to eat) and then everyone has fireworks at midnight. My and my companion got to watch the fireworks from our roof top. It was such a pretty sight! For Christmas eve, for me and my companion it was a crazy day. We wanted to see everyone. Our investigators and the members of the branch. And so for the first part of last week we were making cookies. We made about 200 haha. And we visited about 20 families. We basically ran the whole city of Concepcion. We were basically running from person to person but it was so worth it. I loved sharing a little bit of what we could and showing these people our love for them. And sharing the love of the Lord. We made a DVD with the video from Christmas, He is The Gift. And so we showed it to a few people. This one boy that we met on the street was working and we wanted to show it to him. After the 3 minute video he had tears in his eyes. Oh how I love this gospel. We really do have so much hope thanks to Jesus Christ. It shows us in that video that Jesus Christ gave his life for us and how we can accept it.
I testify that we can accept his gift by repenting. I am here to declare repentance to these people by inviting them to come unto Christ and I have never before been so honored or blessed to be able to share something so grand and amazing!
Christmas day was pretty normal. We had a zone activity in the morning but in the afternoon we went out and worked. But I can honestly say that it was one of the best Christmases that I have ever had. I have felt the love of the Savior more this Christmas and love for others, myself, more than any other year. What a blessing this Christmas was!
As for new years, I hope you all are excited for 2015! This year is the year guys. Wonderful things are going to happen and it's going to be one of the best years of our lives! We just have to decide first. One of the things I was thinking about was how many times we think about goals and our lives are on a cycle. We think tomorrow I will do better. Next week I will start this habit, Next year, or January 1, 2015 I will work on this goal. But something that I realized is that our goals, our hopes and dreams, our lives, our futures, can start now. Life doesn’t’ have to be a bunch of cycles.. It can be a continuous journey, and I think that's a big part of endure to the end. Think of a goal or something you want to change and dont wait for the first of January. Start now. And be great :) And depend on the Lord for his help!
I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful holiday season! Have a wonderful week!
