Oh how happy I am to finally be here!!! August 4, 2014
The CCM experience flew by. I am so grateful for the time I had there and in Argentina, but I am so happy to be in the place I was called to. We flew into Paraguay (only an hour and a half flight) and it just felt so right to be here. I am so happy I get to call this place home for the next 17 months. Flying overhead I saw tons of trees, lots of red dirt roads, and a few buildings. But I love the roads! They don’t always feel so good to walk on, but I love the red. Most of the roads are cobblestone and my feet are feeling it. But I am enjoying all of the things that I am experiencing.
So day 1, we flew in and the mission president and his wife picked us up at the airport. Presidente and Hermana McMullin are so nice and they are jus the best. I am so blessed to be a missionary under their leadership. After a few hours of orientation stuff and going to the temple, we got to contact outside of the temple. It was really nerve racking at first but after awhile we got the hang of it. I could barely understand anybody but it was a fun learning experience. The sisters here are so good at being missionaries! I hope one day that I can be like them and work my hardest and speak the language! The accent here though is a bit easier I think to understand than in Argentina. So they talk a little more clearly for me, but a lot of people know and speak some Guarani here. So I never know when a word is Spanish or Guarani. I can kind of tell the difference. So I have learned a few Guarani phrases and words, as well as Spanish of course.
