Hola!
I cant believe another week has passed! They all go by way to fast! But a lot of learning along the way :) This week we had a few cool experiences that I'd like to share:
So the first, we have a convert named Rossana that only has a few months in the church as a member. When I first got here in Limpio, she was less active. She hadn’t been in like 6 weeks and we kept trying to help her come back and know what we could do to help her come back. Finally about a month ago she decided, had the determination to come back. So she had gone 2 Sundays in a row and was changing again. I was really happy for her. But last Sunday she didn’t show up and we were kind of sad to see that. So we went over this week to share and she explained to us why she didn’t come. To make the long story short, she has an ex- husband that wasn’t helping her with their children and she had a plan with her Lawyer of how they were going to get him to pay. But he wasn’t acting or doing anything. So she was just stuck in the situation with him living far away. But last Sunday he happened to show up at her house and in that moment she decided to go along with the plan that they had thought of and in the end, the police came, and he now has to pay and help her out. I’m not very good at explaining things, but in the moment it was incredible to hear that story. And I know that 1) Rossana was showing her faith by going to church and so God blessed her with what she needed in her life, a miracle, and 2) Heavenly Father can help us bring to pass our desires if we are willing to put forth our effort. This Sunday me and Hermana jones had the opportunity to teach Relief Society and we talked about revelation. And one thing that was said is that God wants us to study things out in our mind and then ask him if its right. Sometimes we expect God to solve all of our problems without trusting in our own judgment or capacity to think. One thing is that Rossana did, was plan how she wanted to get her ex to pay and then, the rest was up to the Lord. Most times, we have to act and take a step forward having faith before we know if its the will of God or not. That was something interesting learned this week. Act and the spirit will guide.
Another blessing this week was to be able to testify and share about the Book of Mormon. While being here on the mission, my love for that book has grown so much. We went to visit a contact the other day and we decided to share with her about the Book of Mormon. We only had about 10 minutes before she had to go. So we told her what it was and that it was another testament of our Savior and she was so amazed. She kept saying, "woah. Woah!" It was so refreshing to see somebody so amazed by the Book. To see somebody appreciate it just as much as I do. "its a blessing" she said. So we gave it to her and she almost started crying and then talked about how much love the savior has for us. And its true. He has given us so much in this life to be happy and to be able to get back to Him. I know that its true!
One thing that is good about the heat here is that people always offer us water and let us sit down in their shade. Like they feel bad for us being in the heat. So that’s a plus!
Well, hope your week is good! This week we find out changes. I think I'll be staying here in Limpio. We'll see! Have a good one! Oh and a scripture real quick that was shared with us by one the the area 70 this morning : Ezra 7:10. Read it and apply it in your life the way you can! Hint: we have to search.
