Hola! Como fue la conferencia?!
It was such a good conference weekend! Saturday was a bit rainy, but we got to listen to it in English!! And Sunday was perfectly sunny and we listened to it in Spanish with the investigators that were able to come! I was so happy to show these few investigators that we had, a prophet of the Lord.
One of our investigators, named Marcela, came Sunday morning. She was excited to hear from the prophet. Hopefully she was able to understand. That was her first time to church. These past few weeks we have gone to her house to teach them. We first met her husband while contacting and had a few visits with him. He seemed interested at some points and kind of doubtful at others. But we decided to keep trying to see if he and his family could progress. This past Monday we were finally able to meet his wife. She was the nicest thing ever! And she has a lot of desire to learn more. Now its the husband that’s being a little stubborn.. But that’s ok. Time and patience! So we had a lesson with Marcela this past week and when we got there we asked if she had read her pamphlet. And usually its not a surprise when people tell us no and that they haven’t read it yet. But Marcela did. She said, but I have a few questions. She went and got her pamphlet and said, "how am I supposed to understand this when half of the scriptures are from the Book of Mormon? I don’t have one.." That is a question or comment that we have never heard. She really does want to learn and we get to see it by the faith that they exercise. So we got to have an amazing lesson about the Book of Mormon. Its one o my favorites to teach because I love that book so much. I know that it is of God and that it is not an invention by man. God loves us!
So of course I have to share what one of my favorite talks was...
What do I need to change? Larry R. Lawrence
Its the little things we can do! God wants us to be our best and ultimately be perfect. But he sends his spirit to let us know of the little things we can improve. And it was interesting because just this week I was made very aware of a certain weakness that i need to fix. and its something so simple but it matters. and I know that Heavenly Father is always helping us with the little things, little by little. It was hard to realize that i had that weakness but we just need to be humble, accept the help from God, and better it. So this week is a week to fix and change!
So this week was full of challenges, blessings, and all sorts of things. But one thing that I know that always helps is communication. Without it, we are all lost! Talking to my companion this week was key and important to the work that we have to do Together here. And also speaking about conference, I know that communication is key from our Heavenly Father. We'd all be lost without it! Oh how He loves us!
Well, have a wonderful week! Let the conference talks still build you up even after! Go back to read them! They will be answers later on! Talk to you soon! Thanks for everything you all do!
