¡Hola Hola Hola!! ¿Cómo están? Espero que ustedes están bien y que tuvieron una semana hermosa!
I sure did! This week was definitely a bit different. And we have been having to work in a slightly different way with a few changes in the mission. We have been focusing more on people rather than numbers. As a missionary we always hear, these are people, not only numbers. We teach people, not lessons. And so this week we have been really focusing on that. Thinking about baptism, retaining (I think that’s a word in English?) our converts, and reactivating our less actives. Focusing on these people rather than how many lessons we can get in a week has been a different kind of work, but I have been enjoying the difference. I feel more for the people and trying to help them. Solely because they need help.
Last week we taught a woman, Digna, and her husband. But before I say anything about that lesson, that morning we were thinking of what we needed to teach them. So we decided to focus on the fall of Adam and Eve out of the plan of salvation. So we both studied for that and prepared for that lesson during companionship study. Then that night we had an appointment with Digna. And then for the first time, her husband came and sat down and listened. Oh! And before the lesson, we sang, as we always do before the prayer, and then after we finished he stared singing to us. It was something so simple but it made me so happy! I love music and it was just a good time.. listening to an old Paraguayan sing about Jesus. Anyways, so we started talking and I thought that we weren't going to end up teaching about the plan of salvation. We weren't really sure what we were going to share now that he joined in. But then he asked us a question.. about the fall of Adam and eve. How did that work out just so perfectly? It was quite a testimony builder to me that not only does it matter that we try to listen to the spirit during the day when we are out, but also in the night while planning for these people. I know that the spirit is always guiding us. And even if we didn't know at the time, he is always helping us with good feelings as we act! And if we are going in the right direction! It was quite an amazing time with them. It was a very simple lesson, but the both of them understood more about the plan of salvation. Any bit of knowledge added to their own, is a good thing. So we just need to be acting always with the spirit of the Lord!
This week was another hot one. But with water and our umbrellas, we were able to continue in the work of the Lord! I feel so privileged to be here helping these wonderful people. And at the same time, so humbled because I know that I am doing practically nothing. It is all the work of the Lord. The only thing that I am trying to give that the Lord does not have, is my agency. I know that if we all choose to do the right things and use pure agency how the Lord wants, we can allow him to come into our lives and I know that he can make our lives better.. even if they are already good. He knows everything! So allow him to do amazing things in your life!!
I love you all and thank you for the encouragement and the love and support! Have a wonderful week!! yayochapeve!
