Family! And Friends! HOLA!
Wow, what a week. I just don't really know where to begin. Ok, well first of all, I know that Heavenly Father loves his children!!
I guess to begin I will share a little about the family Paralta. The other day we were trying to contact a house, that has been a reference for about a month. The other day we felt that we should try contacting them again. Well, They weren't home.. But then a minute later, their neighbor came out from her house and said that they weren't home. Normally when people tell us that, it's because they don't want us there. And so we were kind of bummed. But then we decided to talk to her. Her name is Liz. She has 17 years. So she invited us in her house for water. So we sat down and started talking and she told us that she needed help. In her family there are some problems but she wants to learn more about Christ. So we shared a little something and she was just so open and wanted to badly to read anything. So we gave her our best tool, the Book of Mormon. Then after a while, her brother, Mateo came in and was so interested in what we had to say. He asked what we had to share and if he could come to our church to learn more. Then the other day we also met Mateo's twin, Tadeo. All 3 of them are so open and want to find the truth. They read everything we had to give them. We've only taught them the first lesson so far, the Restoration of the church. But they were all so grateful. It was such an amazing experience. We don't know exactly yet why they all have this spiritual hunger, but I do know that I am here just as a teacher, a missionary of the Work, and a representative of Jesus Christ. God prepares these people so that we can find them and bring them this word. It’s just incredible to see the workings of the Lord.
Another experience we had this week was with a man named Gorgorio that lost his son at the age of 26, his son. I was so happy to share this message that we have of hope. I know that through baptism

and other covenants he can see his son and be with him forever. I know that eternal families are possible and one of the greatest blessings that we have from our Heavenly Father!
These people that we have met are all brought to be humbled in some sort of way. There is a part in the bible - I don’t remember where it is- but it says something like the people that accept the gospel are humble. People are either brought to be humbled, or choose to be humble. Do the latter! In Alma 32, it testifies, and I also testify, that if we choose to be humble to have faith that we will be so much more blessed. So these people have some sort of need, and a lot of them have been humbled to see this need. I know that it is Jesus Christ that they need.
We had another lesson with a guy named Joel. He is only 22. He graduated from college, has a good job, has a car, has a good house with his mom, yet, he felt like he couldn’t fill something, a hole. There was nothing he could do, to achieve to fill this empty space he had. I know that this gospel can do that for him! Even though he hasn't really had to suffer much in his lifetime, he still needed something - the gospel.
We just had a handful of incredible lessons and experiences this week. The lord is blessing this area so much! And I am so happy to be able to see the miracles here everyday! These people, in whatever situation they are in, have a hunger for the Word. It's amazing to witness that everyone, doesn't matter who, needs this in their life. Whether they know it or not, these people need Jesus Christ. The sad part is, is that they can't see that and don't accept him, or his atonement. But I am here as a servant of the Lord to share to all that have been prepared by Him!
I read something the other day that said The Book of Mormon has the same purpose that missionaries have, to share the gospel. 2015 - let it be the year of the Book of Mormon! And not just to read it, but study it. Learn how you can apply the wonderful doctrine contained in this book. What a wonderful witness we have of God's love for us!!
I hope that all of you started out the year on a good note and I hope the best of 2015 for all of you!
Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
