Hey! How was everyone's week?
I cant believe a week has passed since General Conference. But I hope we were all edified by those messages this week.
This week not anything super crazy, just work work work! There is a lot to do here! But of course we have days of looking and contacting and looking more.
This week Hermana Jones and I had 2 divisions and so we got to learn a lot from them and try our best to help them with whatever they needed.
Something that has been very hard here lately is realizing that a lot of people just follow traditions. The traditions of their fathers. And sometimes its hard to get the message across that maybe they need to change. To find the truth that is out there for them. As I’ve been reading in the Book of Mormon a lot of the missionaries preach to the Lamanites reminding them of the traditions of their fathers. Sometimes I wonder how they went about doing that.. But I think it just comes down to love. They need to come to know Christ and the love that our Heavenly Father has for them. Because a lot don’t know.
This week we met an inactive named Gladysla. She hasn’t been to church in over 7 years. All of her kids were baptized. Its crazy because she has an amazing testimony. She has seen the hand of the Lord in her life, literally save her life, many times and has had many witnesses that the Church is true. But something we have learned as a mission lately is the different between testimony and conversion. We can all have a testimony. But conversion is when we put it into practice. When we do all we can to live it. Testimony is a gift that God gives us and conversion is a gift that we give to God. We ill be trying to help her do that!
Not too much for this week. Its been really rainy lately, lots of rejection, but luckily we have companions to help us through everyday! I love this work and its worth anything to help somebody come closer to Christ.
Hope you all have a wonderful week! Thanks for everything :)
Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
