Hey! 8-17-15
Another week here in Uruguay and lots of rain. But luckily it hasn’t been too cold. Its been raining like every other day for the past 2 or 3 weeks. But guess what?! It didn’t rain yesterday and our attendance in church went way up! I think the last week we had 35 people there or something like that and yesterday 65 people went to church. It was so awesome!
This week was good :) I was able to feel the spirit in our lessons which is always amazing. My companion and I were at a members house. Her name is Elizabeth. Oh, more good news. She goes to church every week! (We found her as a less active). We had a lesson with her Saturday morning and we are going back over the "missionary lessons" with her. So we started with the Restoration. I have never liked teaching the restoration more in my mission than now. Don’t know if that makes sense. But I love teaching about the restoration of the church. Its such a blessing we have to have in our lives the Book of Mormon, all of its truth and living prophets. My companion and I, in this lesson, were testifying of living prophets and the spirit was so strong. I know that Joseph Smith restored the priesthood and now, today, we are able to have living prophets and apostles to lead a guide us :) I had Elizabeth draw 6 circles in the form of a tower. Jesus Christ, apostles, and the priesthood were the 3 circles on the bottom (the foundation), and the top circle was the Bible. And the 2 circles underneath are covenants and ordinances that are contained in the Bible. then on the back I had her draw 6 circles drawn randomly on the page but said the same things. And we talked to her about the great apostasy. And we ended up crossing out all of the circles because everything was lost during the great apostasy. But that is why the restoration of the church and joseph smith is so important! Because now, we have the FULLNESS of the gospel :) So blessed! In the end of the lesson, my companion commented that I was a good teacher and Elizabeth agreed. She told me that I should be a teacher, which made me feel good :)
I’m sorry I didn’t write a ton, but I’m good! Everything is going well here in Uruguay. Thank you all for your prayers :) Que tengan una buena semana!!
