Hey!!
So, this week, Hermana Bravo and I are really trying to focus on finding new people. Because we have found that we are spending a lot of our time with members. New members, active members, less actives, inactives, etc. But we haven’t really been seeing success. So we are contacting lots of people and trying to visit them in their house and going back to the contacts that we’ve already made, we are asking for references and everything. So it would be really great if you guys could pray for us :)
We are still working with Jessica. We had a lesson with her about tithing and she was more than willing to live that commandment. Oh! And we had a lesson with her about faith, repentance, baptism, the holy ghost, and endure to the end and it was awesome. At one point, I asked her, "Why do you think God wants us to get baptized?" And she sat there and thought about it and said, "I don’t know." And then she said, "wait, I want to write down the questions that you ask me and the answers." So she left and got a notebook and was writing the entire lesson. It was incredible! We were basically searching the scriptures together. She’s so great :) She makes me happy to be a missionary. Right now we are planning on December 12th for her to be baptized. We are going to see if we have enough time to teach her everything because we want her to be prepared. I’m really hoping that I can see her get baptized the 12th! That would be the best way to spend my last Saturday. So, PRAY FOR US! :)
Something that I’ve been thinking about this week is the Holy Ghost. How absolutely necessary it is for our salvation and how important and beautiful that gift is that God is willing to give us. It guides us and helps us make decisions, puts thoughts in our head, feelings in our hearts, makes us want to do good, etc. I love this gift that I have from my Heavenly Father. And I know that we need to search for it. It doesn’t just come. We have to work for it, ask for it, and use it. Its cool to be able to explain to people the a member of the godhead can dwell within us as long as we strive for it. Its such a sacred gift and if we are always listening to the whisperings of the spirit, he will help us to stay out of temptation and bring us comfort. I was reading this week in 3 Nephi and Christ was talking to his people and asking them what they wanted. They said that they desired the Holy Ghost. And Christ willingly allowed them to have it so that they could feel the presence of Christ and of God. For me, the Holy Ghost allows me to know my Heavenly Father better. And understand who Jesus Christ is better. Its amazing. So, search for that amazing gift!!
Funny story that popped into my head. Hermana Bravo and I were contacting different people on the street and looking for certain houses, and so we knocked on a door and asked for Carlos (don’t remember his name), And the guy that answered said, "Aw he just barely left with his Matte." (Matte is the drink that everyone drinks here). And before we got to the house we had said hi to a couple that passed by. So I asked my companion if the guy we saw was Carlos. And she said "I don’t think so, unless the girls name is matte". Hahah. At least it was funny for us. We laughed. That’s my story :)
I hope you all have a GREAT week and a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
