How is everyone this week? I hope all is well and that we are all continuing on in the faith!
I don’t have too much to report on for this week, so it might be a bit shorter..
First of all, I just want to talk a little bit about love. I know that I am far from perfect and so this message will be for me as well. I just want you all to know that without love, we are nothing. Nothing can happen for the good without love. I want to invite everybody that reads this to have love for everybody. That seems like a big invitation. But I know that its what the Lord wants. And that doesn’t mean that you have to be best friends or like what they do. But we are all imperfect here. And every single one of us needs love, especially to progress as a person. But I want to focus on having love in the church. In order for a branch or ward to progress, for the members as well as converts, we need to have love. And so it doesn’t matter who it is or what they do, just love them! Just love everybody! With the Christ like love that Jesus has. And its not merely affectionate love. Its easy to love a person if they have the same mentalities as you, if they have the same hobbies, or if they do things the way you like. But this is only a very small portion of love that we need to give. The rest goes out to the people that might be a little bit more difficult to love. And this requires a whole lot more effort. And so, like Moroni, I invite you all to pray with all energy of heart for this Christ-like love. Without it, we cannot progress. Anyways, I hope that I can share this message here with these wonderful people and also that each one of you puts forth an effort to love all of the members, and investigators, of the church. So that as a people of God, we can progress!
Me and my companion are trying to have the members of the branch here interact more so that the love can grow. This week we had 2 family home nights with some families that are amazing. On Monday night we had it with the family of president of the branch. We invited 2 of our less active members, and they came! And guess who showed up to church this Sunday? These same people that need the gospel in their lives! In this family home night we decided to make pancakes for everyone because people don’t know what they are. Everybody loved them. Its always fun to share something from the states with them.
Every week seems to be hard, but every day I am happy to see all of the tender mercies that God is giving us. Even though we, me and my companion, are far from perfect, and this week seems so grand, that sometimes its really intimidating, I know that if we put forth all of the effort that we have, every ounce, it will all be worth it, and I know that Heavenly Father can use our efforts for the good. There was one day this week when me and my companion tried to work the hardest we could, and I could definitely feel it. For the first time in a long time, I was dead that night. So tired. But really, I want to feel like that every night. If not physically, spiritually tired. So that I can say that that day, I did everything I could to be the kind of missionary that God wants me to be. That I put for my full effort. Its a good feeling being tired at the end of the day really. And the next day, we do it again. That’s the mission- no, that’s life. Life is hard, but life is good :) And I love it!
I hope you all are just dandy and that you are seeing the many blessings from our Loving Heavenly Father every day! Love you all!
