Hola mi familia y mis amigos!
This week was good! Its seriously hard to know what experiences to share. Anyway!
This week we were able to have a lot of good lessons! My comp and I visited a family that we are helping (members) and when we walked in their house we saw a guy. We introduced ourselves and Hermano Barrios told us that it was his cousin. He had already once told us about his cousin that was interested in listening to the missionaries. So we started talking to him and he said that he had just recently lost everything. He lost his house, his family, and his girlfriend. So right now he is living with this family. It was awesome because we were able to teach him and their son who will be getting baptized this upcoming week, about the restoration. It went really well! We were talking to him about living prophets and what a blessing it is that the gospel has been restored! And guess what?! He came to church yesterday! We had a stake conference (which was really awesome) and him and this family were there. It made me so happy! :) We are going to visit them this week.
Oh another awesome thing that happened! So. We’ve been working with our investigator who’s 17 for about 2 months now. The missionaries had already been working with him before and his baptismal date has been for the 3rd of October. This has been his date because his mom doesn’t want him to get baptized until he’s 18. BUT! A MIRACLE HAPPENED! His mom said that he could get baptized THIS Saturday! :D So we are super excited and we are preparing his baptism now! He’s been ready for a long time now to be baptized. He has said "I want to be a member of the church." And he talks about going on a mission. How awesome is that?!
Even through the rough times here on the mission, the rejection, and the exhaustion, every second is worth it. I have grown and learned so much here on the mission that I never could have learned any other way. Its true that this time truly prepares us for the future. My companion shared with me this week Mormon 7. She was explaining all of the things we can know because we have the Book of Mormon in our lives. Its really amazing what the Book of Mormon does for us. If we imagine our lives without it, what knowledge do we have? What covenants and ordinances do we have? The Book of Mormon literally tells us everything that we need to know to be able to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. We’ve been given a book so we can read it! It contains the fullness of the gospel. I invite all of you to READ and study what that book says. It is the word of God.
I hope you all have an amazing week and always keep in mind what the Lord is doing for you. Love you all!
