OK, first off I’m sorry I didn’t write last week! And second off, ¿Como estan?!
I'll get you guys caught up on the last 2 weeks. They have been pretty crazy. So we were told that me and Hermana Jones were going to be staying together in Limpio. And then the week after (2 weeks ago) we had a little meeting with President McMullin and he told us that he wanted to use us that best that he could this last change (because we both finish together, me and Hermana Jones). So he told us that he wanted us to do 5 divisions in the 5 weeks we have left. So instead of doing 1 day divisions with half of the Hermanas in the mission, we have 5 companionships to work with. And we will be with each sister for one week at a time. That is a big responsibility to take on and a lot of pressure really. Because he wants us finding people to teach so that their area can grow and working and talking to everybody. So we are trying to help a lot with a few of the sisters to work and see miracles. But now the thing is is that we now do not belong to an area. Yep- me and Hermana Jones are homeless... So me and Hermana Jones are going together in their area and splitting their area in 2 for the week and so all 4 of us are there. Which means sleeping on a little 1 inch mat for the next month and having to wake up a little earlier to get in showers before 8. Its pretty crazy and I never imagined that I would be ending my mission like this. But if this is what the Lords wants that I do, I cant be anything but willing. Its a big task each week, but I have been learning a lot and I hope that I have been able to help the Hermanas some.
So we are homeless, without area, floating from area to area. Its been fun and crazy and it will continue to be a wild ride. But here's to the last 3 weeks and the last 3 divisions!
We have the opportunity while doing these divisions to contact a lot and a lot of having first lessons. So that’s been cool to be a part of seeing peoples desires a lot more and recognizing if someone is interesting or not. Sometimes people think we are sales people and say thanks and we cant do anything but to move on. And sometimes people are so humble and really don’t have any knowledge of Jesus or his gospel. Or even the bible. And so its been a joy to be able to teach something that they don’t know. And later they can act if they want. Which that is kind of the hard part because we are getting to know a lot of people but cant see the progress with only being a week there.
So we moved out of our house 2 weeks ago, said bye to Limpio, and we have already done 2 divisions. Its been hard but its been pushing me to be better in every moment. But there is so much to learn with each companion that I have been with and in each area! I have already been with 2 Peruvians in Ysapy and Anahi and this week I will be with another Peruvian in Isla Bogado.
Something that stuck out to me this week in my reading of the Book of Mormon is 1 Nephi 11. And the last verse. Its really important to trust in the servants of the Lord. Especially the prophets and apostles. It is said over and over in the Book of Mormon how if we don’t obey their words and follow their counsels, we wont be able to follow our savior Jesus Christ and his gospel.
Well, onto another week! Work hard but have fun! And eat extra for me! Happy Thanksgiving :) Thank you for all of the love and support I receive daily and weekly from you all!
Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
