So I realized why I haven’t been able to send pictures. Its because of my camera. It never connects to the computer. So I am going to ask the people that work here if I can use one of their chords. Anyway.
Hola!!! I hope everyone is doing amazing :) This week not a TON happened. We spent a lot of time walking on the streets in the heat trying to find people we could teach, ex investigators, less actives, etc. Let me tell you... there are a lot of less actives in our area, its crazy. Literally everywhere we go, people say, oh yeah, I’m a member. Sometimes its overwhelming because we have to work with all these people, and they don’t always want our help, but its also awesome, because we have people to work with! Haha.
This week I went on "mini divisions" with Hermana Sablan. Shes been on her mission for about 3 weeks. I got the chance to be the senior companion and teach with her. It was kind of crazy that I could understand what people were saying to me and I could respond. It just hits me sometimes haha.
Its been getting hotter this week. We were out last night at like 7:30 and I was sweating like crazy. And everyone says that December and January are going to be so much worse! Crazy. I think I need to buy more shirts that are more like "tshirts", for the heat. Just in case you guys wanted to know haha.
Anyway, the first lesson for investigators is the restoration. This includes: God is our loving heavenly father and he gives us families and this gospel. He also gives us prophets. Prophets of old wrote the Bible. During these times Christ was on the earth, had the priesthood authority, gave it to his apostles, He died, His apostles died, and there was a great apostasy. This is where Joseph Smith comes in. (A lot of people know this part before we teach it). Joseph Smith didn’t’ know which church was correct. He was reading in James 1:5. He lacked wisdom and so he asked of God. He asked in faith. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. And Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have the opportunity to share this with people every day. The other day in my personal study, I read all of Jospeh Smith History. Its so amazing to read about the life of Jospeh Smith and the miracles that happened. I have such a strong testimony of him and am very grateful for the sacrifice that he made for all of us. To be able to have the Book of Mormon and this church. And now look at us! There are 15 million members!! I love this gospel and I am grateful to be able to share it :)
I hope you all take the time to remember your Savior and all He has done for you. We are so blessed!
Thank you all for your prayers :) I miss you all!
