Hola!! September 9, 2014
This past week was definitely different than the rest. We got robbed last week, so this week, we have been trying to figure out everything that we are going to do. It turns out that the mission president said that it wasn’t safe for sister missionaries to be in this area, so Hermana Spradlin and I are closing the area. We are going to Artigas! Right next to Brazil! So I think I will be going to Brazil at some point, Im excited :) This week has been different, because beforehand, the president basically told us that we are going to be moving areas, so we’ve been going around and saying goodbye to the wonderful families that are here and in our ward. Man we have such a good ward. Such amazing families.
Oh! And on Wednesday, we had our first zone conference! It was so good! Presidente Smith came and it was amazing. We were there from like 8:30 to 5. Haha all day process. It was so good though! And my Spanish is getting better! I’m able to understand a little bit more. The members here have said that my Spanish has improved a lot in the past 6 weeks, so Im trusting them haha. Anyway, in the middle of our zone conference, we went to a military museum thing, and it was so beautiful! It was on top of a HUGE hill and I took lots of pictures. Its so cool to be so close to the ocean on my mission. I love it.
This week we didn’t teach too many lessons, but I definitely have seen miracles this week. Members have started to work with the investigators which is so amazing. I love seeing our members work with our investigators. I feel like a proud mother hahaha. Our investigators have become more soft hearted, and willing to listen. I know that God puts people in your life at the right time for a reason. At the perfect time. Oh! The family that my companion and I have been working with will be getting baptized at some point. Their date keeps changing because they want to all do it together and there are just some complications. But, whenever they do get married, we have permission from the mission president to come back down here and be there for that! Im so excited!
Thank you all for you prayers. So much! I have seen a little bit of a difference this week. I feel like the Lord is starting to loosen my tongue in the way that he needs to. Its so amazing. I am still trying to work super hard to learn the language, because its super hard to learn a language haha. But I know that I couldn’t do this without the help of my heavenly father. I love you all!
2 Nephi 22:2 (that was the scripture I meant to put a few weeks ago).
Love, Hermana Jacqueline Wiscombe!
