Hola mi familia y mis amigos! Espero que tuvieron una semana muy buena!!
Hey! So this week, my companion and I had a very normal week. Haha. I was reading through my journal to figure out if I had any crazy stories but we basically just had normal lessons. But they were all good!
Oh. I guess I have one interesting story for the week to start off. My companion and I were walking along the street and then all of the sudden this guy walked up to us, coming really close to my face (I thought he was going to kiss me, cause they do that here), and he spoke really fast. I could hardly understand him. But he was saying "can you guys pray for me??" And we were just like.. "Yeah, sure. What’s your name and what’s the problem?" So he just lead us over to a little corner, told us his name (Walter.. I think) and he said that his head was hurting him. So my companion prayed for him and right when we ended all he said was "muchas gracias" and immediately walked away. Haha. It was very interesting. But hey... at least he feels like prayer can help him. That’s good!
My companion and I had a lot of really spiritual lessons this week. We had one with a family that we have been teaching. We found out that they have been having doubts about joseph smith and especially about the Book of Mormon. So we had a lesson where we read the Bible and the Book of Mormon together and it seemed to really help. In one part of the lesson, I remember that I wasn’t really sure what to say so I basically told myself that I was just going to rely on the spirit. And it was really amazing. I could feel myself speaking through the spirit. Its amazing being able to help these people.
Also. One night my companion and I were walking at about 8:45 and we didn’t have any other plans. So we went across the street from where we were and I said "We are looking for someone names Luis?" And he was just like, "Yep! That’s me!" he was sitting with his wife and they immediately told us to come and sit down and he offered us juice and crackers with cheese and stuff. They were all super nice. Then their friend pulled up and started talking to us. And we just all had a really great time. They said that we could come back (which we are going to do this week) and the friend (without us asking) said, you guys can come visit me at my house too! It was just really amazing seeing miracles from the Lord and having Him guide our steps. I know there are a lot of people here in Nueva Palmira, Uruguay who are prepared to hear this amazing word :)
Its still hot here, but we are working really hard! Thank you all so much for your support and your prayers!
This week I have been reading different talks from this past general conference in the Liahona. I recommend going back and reading those. They are all amazing and the words of living prophets give me strength every day :)
Have a great week!!
