So let me tell ya. I love Colonia!! I wasn’t too excited to leave Artigas, but I love it here! Hermana Nielson is just awesome! We speak Spanish to each other a lot which is awesome. And our area is so cute! It reminds me a lot of Utah and Idaho. It makes me feel at home :) We have already started to work hard. I am seriously pumped for this change and I am going to give it everything I’ve got. I know that Hermana Nielson and I are going to see miracles.
Oh! My second day here we went over to an investigators house (it was actually her sons house) to try and teach her. We walked in, and asked if we could sing a song for her and she kept saying sure, hold on. And so we waited and she just kept cleaning, doing little things, and then she grabbed a cigarette and went outside, sat down and started smoking. We were like what the heck? So we walked outside and joined her. We had barely sat down until her son got home and said, who said you could invite Mormons into my house? Why did you invite people into my house? It was actually super awkward. And it was super sad to watch, because he was treated her really rudely and she just looked like she was about to cry. So we talked to her in her front yard for a little while and we are going to invite her to come to the fireside that we are going to have in 2 weeks. I’m so excited!
In our area we have an old bull fighting range which is awesome! And we have a horse racing track. Its sweet! Everything here is just adorable. The people are nice and I’m so excited!!
Lately we (us missionaries) have been focusing on "He is the Gift" and John 3:16. Its so great. We have been focusing on what Heavenly Father did for us. What Christ did for us. I was reading a talk in the Liahona the other morning and it was talking about how hard it must have been for God. And while Christ was suffering in the garden, God probably had to shut his eyes because it killed him. But He knew it had to be done. Great talk. And just the extent of really what Christ went through for us. Celebrate the birth of Christ. The life of Christ. The death of Christ. And the resurrection of Christ. He is the Gift. And we need to share the gift! I love this gospel so dang much and I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. May we all remember our brother, Jesus Christ this Christmas season :) And do as He would do.
I love you all so much! Until next week!
