Happy Thanksgiving family and friends! I am thankful for all of you and for all of the support and for the prayers I feel! I hope you guys have the best of thanksgivings and really enjoy this beautiful holiday and season!
As for the season here, hot. As always, but I am happy and I am so blessed to be here with these wonderful people serving them!
This week at church we had another investigator in church, Carmen Vega. She is 45, has no husband, has no kids. And I know this gospel will be something to fill her life with more purpose, more happiness, and I know it can help her in every aspect of her life. On Saturday we taught her a lesson, which was good. But then afterwards we did service for her. And honestly, the service was a lot better than the lesson. I mean its good that she gets taught all the lessons and understands, but I think us helping her out really helped her to want to go to church Sunday. I know that Christ was everybody's servant. And through his service, people came to him and as a representative of Him, I want to serve, and do it with all of the charity I have so that the investigator, or members, can feel the Love that the savior has for them. I know that the savior loves his children. Oh what a blessing it is to have that knowledge!
As for Deisy Ramos, our other investigator, she hasn't been able to come to church since that first time 2 weeks ago. But we are working with her and trying to help her gain a testimony. We have taught her all of the lessons, she has learned, understood, try to apply everything, and now its up to her and the Lord. We have been a guide up to this point, but now its her, the Lord, and her prayers and answers. I know that if she exercises her faith, she will get the answer that she needs that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the earth with the authority from God to do covenants, like baptism - that will help us have eternal life! As missionaries, we have to keep at it and help her as much as we can without giving her everything.
Something that I have learned as a missionary is that we have to let the people go through their struggles and overcome them by themselves. We can't do everything for them because once we leave, it will be hard for them to stay active in the church. As a missionary, I have here to HELP resolve their problems and doubts that they may have. I am not here to resolve their problems. I know that each of us experience hardships so that we can grow and personally we will learn to rely on the Lord- the only one that makes it possible for us to get back to our Heavenly Father!
I know that the Lord's hand is in this work and he is present in Molino. I am so blessed to be here , witnessing changes in people's hearts!
Well, that’s about all for this week. I hope everyone has a good week! Remember what you are grateful for!
