Hey!! This week was really awesome :) Ill be sharing a few experiences that we had.
First of all. This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to see and listen to Elder Oaks. And shake his hand :) There were about 500 people in the room and he shook every single hand. He gave such an amazing talk. Part of it, he mentioned how missionary work is like a pen. The ink part represents the knowledge that we have of the gospel. But if we don’t click or turn the pen to put it in the writing position, the "ink" or knowledge is good for nothing. Also. The purpose of the pen is not to write the pens message. It is to write the message of the writer. This is a demonstration of us and God. We are here to do the will of The Father. Not our will. We need to want what God wants and do what God expects of us. And another thing, Elder Oaks said, "the pen" is always ready to write. It is ready 24-7. Whenever "the writer" or God needs us, we should be ready. Missionary work is SO important. One thing that we need to remember and not lose sight of is who we are and what we are doing. I invite all of you guys to ponder this question that Elder Oaks asked. Who are we? And what are we doing? We must never forget our real purpose. And the real potential that we have in this life. God is the writer and he will guide us.
Also, we’ve been able to find a lot of new people to teach this week! Everyone here seriously is so nice. The people that we have contacted on the streets are just really receptive and they are willing to listen. We have found a few people this week that have really needed to hear the word of God. They are going through a rough time in their life. Its been cool, because we have been able to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost about who to talk to, what houses to stop at, what scriptures to use, etc. Its really great being a part of this work and being able to help people know more about their Savior. And that they have a VERY loving Heavenly Father.
This past Friday night we were also able to watch Meet the Mormons. It was my second time seeing it. Man, its so good! If you haven’t watched it yet, I encourage you to go see it. So that was a good experience.
Herman Sablan are working really hard and we are seeing a lot of success. I know that we are going to see miracles happen with the people that we are working with.
That’s basically it for this week. I hope that all of you are happier than ever!!
