Hey! I hope everyone had just a splendid week! This week was definitely a good one for Hermana Paredes and I. We had a ton of amazing spiritual lessons.
Its been really amazing on my mission being able to grow every day. And especially in this change (transfer), I feel like we have been so led by the spirit. In every lesson, we just know what to teach and how to help them. What to say and what questions to ask. Its been so great! I have felt that I’ve grown in my teaching ability and being able to help others. Still have a long way to go but the Lord has definitely been helping us. We are going to be doing divisions this week with other Hermanas, so I’m hoping that i know the area well enough. Well see!
Something that I would like to share about this week is a lesson that we had with a couple named Alejandra and Gustavo. They haven’t been to church in a couple weeks so we went to their house to visit them. I had read a Liahona talk a few days earlier. Its from this past conference and I think its called, Yes We Can, And Will Win! Its really amazing. When we were teaching this couple we focused on how we are always going to have temptations around us. All around us and for all of our life. But we have been told what we need to do. In the talk it mentions a scripture, D&C 27:17. It talks about the armor of God. (I recommend all of you to read it). It talks about how our faith is our shield. And how our faith is our testimony. And the way that we receive our testimony is through the Holy Ghost. (GEE: Espíritu Santo). In the description in the back of the Book of Mormon in Spanish. And so we talked about the things that we can do to invite the spirit EVERY DAY. Because we need to be winning these battles every day. It was such an amazing lesson. And Gustavo told us that he understood and he thanked us. He told us that it was a really good lesson. I actually couldn’t stop smiling during the lesson. It was all just so great!! In the end we read Alma 34:31 (we have been using this a lot lately) and we asked them to take out a sheet of paper and write down, "What can I do TODAY to prepare myself?"
This week was just really awesome! My companion and I were walking on the street the other day and we saw a woman sitting outside so we decided to talk to her. Her name is Maria. She said that her husband died 2 years ago. She has 4 kids. So we are going to start helping her!! She was really grateful for the pamphlet we gave her and we set another day to go back. It really amazing who God puts in our paths. Something that I’ve learned is that we just need to be willing to open our mouth. That’s what we have promised to do anyway being members of this amazing church. (Mosiah 18).
I love you all! I’m sorry that’s basically it for this week, but I hope you all have an amazing week!
