Hola Hola! Como están todos?!
Yo estoy muy bien y disfrutando mi tiempo aquí en Concepción! Después de 4 meses acá, me quedo! Y voy a estar aquí por 3 más!
Well, My time with Hermana Valdivia is up, after a good 3 months. I learned a lot from her and these 3 months. But she only got transferred to about 30 minutes away, so we'll be seeing each other often :) But this past Tuesday they told me that I would be training! And so I am staying here in good ol' Concepción. So we had to be on the bus at 10:30 Tuesday night and travel down to Asuncion to go to the training for trainers. And then a short while after they told us who we would be training as the new missionaries came in. I have the opportunity to train Hermana Larsen from St. George, Utah. I am so excited to be able to get to help her as she starts this incredible journey! Now, a while into my mission, we all get used to the mission life. Its just normal. And so we forget what its like to be the new missionary. The one who cant speak Spanish, or doesn’t really know anything about the mission life. It just shows me how much I have been able to learn in the past 9 months. I know its true when they say that little by little, precept by precept, things are done. I haven’t been able to say in my mission, "Oh yeah, today I was a lot better than yesterday." But I have been able to see that little by little I was able to learn all of these many things about the mission life, Spanish, but more importantly about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so excited to help Hermana Larsen in the work and teach her the little bit I know. Its been a fun few days getting to know her, teach her, and serve her. Its been challenging and I haven't felt this tired at the end of the day in a long time on my mission. But I am happy to help and I know that if I am obedient and a good example to her, then I will be doing my job as a trainer. But more importantly, I am happy to be the companion of Hermana Larsen and learn so much from her!
This week we didn’t have too many teaching opportunities with all the changes and traveling, but we did have a wonderful week and Sunday and seeing the fruits of the labors of the missionaries and the members at the church. One family that we are teaching, The Fernandez family, was able to go to church this Sunday.
I wrote about them a few weeks ago. They are a part member family. We are so blessed to be able to work with them and help them come (and come back) into the fold of God. So with the dad of the family, Alex. When we found him the very first night he was smoking. So from that point on I had thought that that would be a challenge for us to work with and for him to overcome. But the other day we went over and he had promised us that he would stop for 24 hours. So we came back a few days later and verified and he had stopped smoking that entire week. And I asked him why, what was his motive, and he told that he was going to reactivate. Those words are always music to our ears! Its been so amazing being with them and seeing the changes in their lives. So they were able to come to church and we are hoping to invite the mom, Hilda to be baptized soon with her son so that they can join Hermana Alex and be members of the Church of Jesus Christ. To be disciples of Christ. We are seeing so many miracles here in our area and it just makes me the happiest to see the lives of these people changing for the better.
I don’t have too much for this week, But I just want you to all know that I know that this work is amazing. Its marvelous. Every time I get out of a lesson I am always reminded how perfect the gospel is. My testimony grows every time and I hope the spirit was able to testify to these people as much as he does to me. I hope that you all are trying to grow closer to God everyday so that the spirit can do the same to you everyday. Testify of this beautiful work that the Lord has. In 2 Nephi 25:17 We are shown of the Love of the Lord that he has for us. We are here, in this marvelous work because Heavenly Father doesn’t want us to be in a lost and fallen state. Never forget the Love that He has for us!!
I love you all and I hope you all are doing wonderful! Talk to you soon!
Love, Hermana Liesel Wiscombe
